Join the Tennessee Rangers

Volunteer for the Tennessee Rangers and contribute to our mission. We are looking for quality, not quantity.

Volunteer Ranger Requirements

An individual must volunteer and pass a face-to-face board or accept an invitation from the board to become a member of the Tennessee Ranger Squadron.

Basic Requirements

  • Male, at least 18 years of age
  • US Citizen and Resident of Tennessee
  • Valid TN Driver's License
  • Satisfactory driving record
  • High School diploma or GED

Background Requirements

  • No felony convictions
  • No misdemeanor convictions for domestic violence
  • No convictions for crimes of moral turpitude
  • No disqualifiers from carrying a firearm

Character & Training

  • Screened for moral character and honorable background
  • Completion of Initial Ranger Training (IRT)

Special Consideration

Individuals with the following certifications will receive special consideration for Ranger positions.

TN POST Certification

Armed Security Guard License

Medical Certification

TN Investigator License

Certified divers for search and recovery operations.

Private Pilots

Licensed pilots for Air Wing operations and reconnaissance.

Cybersecurity professionals for intelligence operations.

Tactical Trackers

Experienced trackers for search and rescue missions.

Explosive Detection K9 Handlers

Certified K9 handlers with trained detection dogs.

Equine Specialists

Experienced horse handlers for mounted operations.
